MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery's mayor is going public and he wants to let everyone know that he's worried about more than just downtown.

Some have criticized the city's push for downtown development.

The mayor says some Montgomerians complain about what they think is too much emphasis on the downtown redevelopment.

The mayor showed us a map with 36 city projects scattered across most of the city.

An example is the Garden Square Residential Redevelopment Project in north Montgomery. 16 duplexes in that community have been purchased by the city for renovations.

Thanks to its innovative financing, the city says all 36 projects are viable and in varying stages of completion.

There are also new tourism programs coming to Montgomery. The city is working to expand the trolley system by equipping them with virtual tours showing all the historic landmarks.
