MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - It sounds like an action scene from a movie. A high speed chase going the wrong way up Interstate 65 gave motorist quite a scare.

State troopers say 43-year old Harold Dempsey, of Hueytown, refused to stop for troopers as he sped north in the southbound lanes of I-65.

Authorities say the chase went on for about 20 miles at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

The chase ended when Dempsey ran over spike strips right before the Verbena exit.

Dempsey was then placed under arrested by the Chilton County Sheriff's Department. He now faces 13 counts of Attempted Murder and Reckless Endangerment along with a DUI charge.
