Selma Times-Journal names new editor

SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Tim Reeves, who once served as sports editor and news editor for The Times-Journal newspaper, has been named as editor of the newspaper.

Reeves, a native of Alabama's Gulf Coast, most recently worked as editor of Suffolk Publications in Suffolk, Va. Both newspapers are owned by Alabama-based Boone Newspapers Inc.

Reeves last worked in Selma as news editor in 2000.

In addition to his time in Selma, Reeves has worked as editor with DFW Community Newspapers in the Dallas metroplex, editor of The Clanton (Ala.) Advertiser and publisher of Tallapoosa Publishers Inc. in Alexander City.

Boone Newspapers owns 13 newspapers in Alabama as well as newspapers in Mississippi, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia.
