Dothan firefighter killed in ATV accident

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - The Dothan Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Firefighter Mason Walding was killed in an all terrain vehicle (ATV) accident late Monday evening.

Walding joined the Dothan Fire Department in January of 2008. He completed his recruit training in April 2008 and was assigned to "B-Shift", Battalion 2.

Mason was assigned to Engine 8 and Engine 3 as a Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician.

In July 2010, he was transferred to "A-Shift", Battalion 1 where he was assigned to Engine 1.

Walding was off duty at the time of the accident.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

Visitation will be held at Sardis Methodist Church on Geneva County Road 67, Friday evening, September 3, 2010 from 6 - 8 pm.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am, also at Sardis Methodist Church.
