Montgomery mayor releases sales tax numbers

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery's mayor is smiling from ear to ear. On Friday, Mayor Todd Strange released sales tax figures for July.

The mayor says sales tax revenues are up 4 percent. He added the city's lodging tax revenues are also up 3 percent.

Todd Strange says that puts the city now in the black with revenues for the year. Strange says this will give the city almost a quarter million dollars in the bank from revenues.

The mayor says he has a good feeling that August and September numbers will be good as well.
