SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Residents in Selma took to the streets to spruce up the city. Many said it was a chance for them to give back to the community.
More than a dozen organizations and youth groups spread across the city for the clean up.
About a 100 soldiers and Junior ROTC members joined the residents to assist in the city cleanup.
Selma Mayor George Evans said he wanted the town looking spic and span and this is just one of many cleanup sessions. The mayor is already planning another city wide clean-up in the Spring.
