Hyundai shifting Elantra production to Montgomery

Hyundai Motor Company is moving production of its Elantra compact sedan to Montgomery from South Korea by the end of this fall, according to a news release from the company.

The move, coupled with shifting production of the Santa Fe to a facility in Georgia, will further increase Hyundai's U.S. production capacity. More than half of its cars sold in the U.S. were already being produced in America.

The company is redesigning the Elantra, which will make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November.
