ASU finishes 10th at Chicago St. Cougar Classic

HAMMOND, Ind.—The Alabama State University women's golf team finished 10th at the Chicago State Cougar Classic hosted by Chicago State at Lost Marsh Country Club.

ASU entered the final round in 10th place and ended the tournament with a 317 for a two-day total of 652.  The Hornets second round score was the fourth best round posted during the final round but could not push the Hornets up in the final standings.

ASU finished one stroke behind Valparaiso and Wisconsin-Green Bayand nine strokes behind host Chicago State.  Butler University shot a final round best 310 to finish first in the tournament with a 622.

Aileen Meredith shot a 72, which was the best score in the final round and finished sixth overall with a two-day 151 total.

Amelie Buhl finished tied for 16th with a 159.Melissa Nawa (168) finished 44th and Taj Hubbard (174) finished tied for 61st and Danielle Robinson (176) finished tied for 64th.

The women's next tournament will be October 10-12 at the Sam Houston Classic.
