Three workers treated after Enterprise ditch collapse

ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) - Three construction workers were injured Thursday afternoon when the ditch they were working in collapsed.

The workers, employed by F&K Construction Company out of Dothan, were working in a wooded area behind Enterprise State Community College when the cave-in happened.

Enterprise Fire Chief Bryon Herring said at no time did dirt cover the workers' heads, so no suffocation was involved. Herring did confirm that two of the workers were injured and another was partially trapped in the accident, though aides were able to pull the victim out fairly easily.

The three workers are expected to be okay, and are currently being evaluated at the emergency room of Medical Center Enterprise.
