TUSKEGEE, AL (WSFA) - Macon County has a new school superintendent to help see it through some troubled times.
Jacqueline Brooks, who had been serving as interim superintendent, has been given the job permanently. She is replacing Dr. Gwendolyn Moore who was fired in June.
Brooks will serve for at least the next two year but could stay longer depending on her job performance.
Brooks says she looks forward to improving a neglected bus system and guiding the system through difficult financial times.
The decision was made at a special school board meeting.
