Troy , AL (WSFA) - When it comes to the art of teaching, Jennifer Lindsey at Troy Elementary School paints a masterpiece every day.   She's been teaching art for the last 13 years.   "I love getting to know the students and seeing their personality come out in the art," Lindsey said.  "Sometimes you might find a talent that's been hidden."

Lindsey went to high school and college in Troy.    And after spending almost a decade teaching in Dothan, she decided to come home, and teach something she really loves.    "It's a place that allows creativity, and sometimes when you make it mistake it might turn into something beautiful. It's a place they can come and be themselves and see that art is related to everything."

All the teachers at Troy Elementary school had a chance to vote, to see who they would nominate for the Class Act Award.   The principal says Jennifer Lindsey was a popular choice.   "Her personality and how she ties art into what we are doing in math and language really helps make them better students," said principal Juan Henderson.

She's hoping to open these kids eyes to a whole new world.   Ms. Jennifer Lindsey from Troy Elementary School is a real Class Act.
