Butler Co. man arrested on animal cruelty charges

BUTLER COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - A Butler County man is behind bars charged with animal cruelty.

Benjamin Soloman is charged with brutally killing his dog.

Sheriff Kenny Harden says Soloman beat the dog to death with a hammer, though the suspect claims the dog "pulled back on him."

A neighbor who had been keeping the animal claims Soloman came to get the dog and then he beat it to death.
