Romney throws support to Martha Roby

MONTGOMERY, AL – Mitt Romney's Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Martha Roby for Congress, Roby's campaign confirmed Thursday.

Romney, who served as Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2003-2007, announced the endorsement as part of his support for 24 Republican candidates running for office up and down the ticket in Alabama.

"I am honored to have the endorsement and support of Governor Romney," said Martha Roby, Republican nominee for Alabama's Second Congressional District. "Governor Romney is a respected conservative leader and I am proud to have him stand with me today."

"Governor Romney knows the importance of bringing conservative change to Washington to turn our country back in the right direction," said Roby. "He believes we need to grow the economy, not the government. He believes government ought to live within its means. I share these priorities and values and look forward to working with Governor Romney to fix Washington."

Free and Strong America PAC previously donated $2,500 to the Roby campaign.
