TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 2010 Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament champions received their rings at halftime of the Alabama football game on Saturday. Director of Athletics Mal Moore handed out the championship rings to the 18 players, coaches and support staff on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Crimson Tide won its last 16 conference games to edge out the Florida Gators for the SEC regular season championship. The Tide also went on to claim the SEC Softball Tournament championship after defeating LSU, 5-4 in the title game.

The two championships in the same season is a first for the Alabama softball program. The Tide has claimed four SEC tournament titles and now two regular season championships.

Alabama will open its fall exhibition slate on Oct. 15, against Jefferson State. The Crimson Tide will play in a total of seven games on four different dates during the fall.
