Judge denies McGregor motions

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A federal judge has refused a request from indicted casino owner Milton McGregor to have federal investigators turn over information about wire taps and copies of recorded phone calls involving McGregor.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Wallace Capel Jr. ruled Wednesday that McGregor's request is premature. The judge said many of the items requested by McGregor will be provided at arraignment or a later date.

McGregor was among 11 people arrested Monday on charges alleging vote buying on a pro-gambling bill passed by the Alabama Senate. All 11 are scheduled for arraignment Oct. 15.
