AUBURN, AL. – The annual Auburn Baseball Celebrity Home Run Derby is set for 6pm on Friday, Oct. 22, at Plainsman Park. Benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County, this year's event will match former Auburn greats against departed players off of the 2010 Southeastern Conference Western Division Championship team.
Requiring a one dollar donation at the gates, fans will see former sluggers Mark Bellhorn, Todd Faulkner, Gabe Gross, Bobby Huddleston and Mailon Kent take on four of the players that helped establish the school record for home runs in a single season with 131 during the 2010 season. Swinging from the 2010 team will be Brian Fletcher, Ryan Jenkins, Hunter Morris and Trent Mummey, all of whom just completed their first summer in professional baseball.
Throughout the night, Auburn will honor the 2010 award winners, which included Morris and Fletcher being named All-American's and Morris as the SEC Player of the Year.
The team as a whole will be recognized the following day during the Auburn-LSU football game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
