Golden & King are Montgomery QB Club Players of the Week

MONTGOMERY, AL- The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its Players of the Week for games of Sept. 30 – Oct. 1. Toby King from Lowndes Academy is the Private School Player of the Week and Jamal Golden from Wetumpka High School is the Public School Player of the Week. Both players will be honored at the Club's next meeting on Oct. 12. Dr. Guy Bailey, president of Texas Tech University, will be the featured speaker.
 
King, a sophomore linebacker/split end, recorded nine tackles and returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown in Lowndes Academy's 56-6 win over Abbeville Christian. On offense, King scored on a 72 yard pass reception.
  
Golden, a senior quarterback, accounted for 257 yards and five touchdowns in Wetumpka's 41-24 win over Carver. Golden rushed for one touchdown and passed for four. One touchdown pass play covered 86 yards.
 
The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club. The social hour begins at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7:00. Guests are welcome at Club meetings but guests must make an advance reservation. Reservations may be made by emailing the Club at mgmqbc@aol.com or by calling Perry Hooper, Jr. at 409-3119. Guests pay $30 at the door.
