MONTGOMERY—The Alabama State University men's basketball team has finalized its 2010-11 schedule and will face a challenging schedule that includes 18 road games and 14 games at home.
The season will start on Nov. 8th as ASU will host Georgia Southwestern in an exhibition game at 6 p.m. The Hornets will then hit the road to begin regular season play. The three-game road trip will begin Nov. 12th at Creighton University followed by games at Iowa State University and the University of Northern Arizona before ASU returns to Montgomery to begin its home season Nov. 20th against Kennesaw State University.
ASU will again hit the road for its longest road trip of the season as the next five games will be played away from the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
The road trip will begin with a Nov. 22nd game in Chicago at Loyola University. Five days later the Hornets will play the University of Central Florida in Orlando. On the 30th, ASU will head to New Orleans will they will face Tulane University and will end the five game stretch with games at Arkansas State University on Dec. 11th and a Dec. 14th game at SEC-member Mississippi State University.
ASU will play their next two games at home with a game against Oakwood University on Dec. 16th and a Dec. 20th date with Belmont University.
The men will play their final game before the holiday season at Southern Methodist University in Dallas on Dec. 22nd.
ASU will come back from the holidays and host three consecutive games. On Dec. 30th ASU will host Albany State University in their final pre-conference match up, and then begin SWAC play hosting Jackson State University on Jan. 4th. The final game of the home stand will be against Grambling State University on Jan. 6th.
ASU's next three conference games will be at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, followed by SWAC games at Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M.
ASU will host Southern University on Jan. 22nd and Alcorn State on the 24th before road games at Prairie View and Texas Southern on Jan. 29th and 31st.
ASU will head back home to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Feb. 5th followed by home games against Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 7th and Alabama A&M on the 12th.
Four of ASU's final six games will be road contests. Feb. 19th will see ASU play at Southern followed by a game at Alcorn State on the 21st.
ASU will host its final home contests against Prairie View on Feb. 26th and a 28th game against Texas Southern. That will lead into the final regular season games at Jackson State on March 3rd and a March 5th outing at Grambling State to end the regular season.
SWAC Tournament play will begin on Wednesday, March 9th and will be held in Garland, Texas.
