MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Four people were taken to the hospital after a wreck involving two 18-wheelers and an automobile in Montgomery Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened around 3:00pm at the intersection of Taylor Road and Troy Highway.

A witness on the scene said it appeared the first 18-wheeler tried to run a red light but made the decision to stop at the last moment. The second 18-wheeler then slammed into the rear of the first tractor trailer. Officers on the scene say the first hauler was already stopped, however.

A Lexus automobile, already stopped at the red light in a different lane, was struck with debris from the crash.

The driver of the second 18-wheeler and her passenger were transported to the hospital, as were the occupants of the Lexus. The 18-wheeler driver is said to be in serious, though non-life threatening condition. The driver of the first 18-wheeler was not injured.
