SELMA, AL. (WSFA) – James "Bubba" Moore, 70, is in police custody after he allegedly shot his girlfriend then led police on a chase through Selma firing at the officers.

Police responded to a residence on Ward Avenue in Selma Tuesday morning to find Moore's girlfriend suffering from a gunshot to the leg.

Moore led police on a chase across town. Authorities report he fired shots at them on two separate occasions.

Police took Moore into custody after a brief standoff. He's in jail facing three counts of attempted murder, one for his girlfriend, two for the officers.

The injured woman was transferred to Baptist Hospital in Montgomery. Police say they're closely monitoring her condition because she was "hurt badly."
