PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - Autauga County Circuit Court Judge John Bush passed down the death sentence for 22-year-old Justin Tyler Hosch after the 2008 shooting death of Joey Willmore.
Willmore was shot and killed Oct. 19, 2008, during a robbery as he was working in his auto repair shop in Pine Level.
Prosecutors convinced a jury that Hosch shot Willmore in the head during a robbery because Hosch wanted to use Willmore's pickup truck to aid in his escape from the Frank Lee Youth Facility.
A jury convicted Hosch of capitol murder in September and passed down the recommendation of the death sentence. The only other sentence available in a capitol conviction is life in prison without the possibility of parole -- a long time for someone who is only 22.
