Wetumpka officer taken to hospital after altercation

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) - A Wetumpka Police officer was transported to Jackson Hospital Thursday with a leg injury.

The female officer, unidentified, was near San Marcos Restaurant in Wetumpka when the accident happened.

Authorities say the officer injured her leg during an altercation with a passenger of a vehicle that had been involved in a minor accident.
