NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Tylenol caplets are being recalled by Johnson & Johnson after some consumers complained about a musty or moldy odor.
That makes 13 recalls in barely a year by the health care giant, mostly for more serious problems with its nonprescription drugs, contact lenses and hip implants.
The latest recall covers one lot of Tylenol 8 Hour caplets in 50-count bottles.
J&J's McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit says the moldy odor is thought to be due to the presence of trace amounts of a chemical.
McNeil says the recall is precautionary and the problems reported by consumers were temporary and not serious. The company says the risk of serious harm is remote.
So far no serious symptoms have been reported from the bottles. However, if you have the affected medication you should visit www.tylenol.com or call 1-888-222-6036 for information about getting a refund.
