BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a Robertsdale man was arrested in south Baldwin County on drug charges after his car nearly collided with a state trooper's.
The Press-Register newspaper reports that 27-year-old Allen Malcolm Steinke faces a charge of first-degree manufacturing a controlled service.
Baldwin County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Anthony Lowery says Steinke was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when he almost hit a state trooper's car.
After a brief chase, the trooper discovered a the components of a meth lab in the SUV and contacted the sheriff's office.
Deputies confirmed the rolling meth lab had recently been used.
