Volunteers honored at MACOA awards ceremony

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An organization dedicated to helping seniors is honoring seniors who are making contributions of their own.

THE Montgomery Area Council of Aging (MACOA) honored eight volunteers and a special friend at its annual seniors of achievement awards ceremony.

WSFA 12 News VP/GM Ken Selvaggi, who is also a MACOA board member, announced this year's winners.

The recipients help the council by improving the quality of life for fellow senior citizens.

This year's winners were Hertisene Crenshaw, Frank Lamar, Mamie Sellers, Paul Duffey, Jim Spear, William Gordon, Gladys Watson, Maggie Stringer and special friend Jerry Kyser.
