Dow wins District 6 election

John Dow has won the special election for Montgomery City Council District 6 with 63.48 percent of the vote. He outpolled opponent Andre Bolding 871-501 in the election to replace council member Willie Cook, who died unexpectedly last summer. Dow, a longtime fixture in city and region politics won even though Bolding had received the endorsement of seven of a dozen candidates that competed in the first election to fill the vacant seat.

Dow is the director of the Millbrook Chamber of Commerce.
