MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Alabama voters spoke loudly: it is time for real change. Sweeping changes are coming to our statehouse.

For the first time in state history, a Republican Governor will serve alongside a majority Republican House, Senate and Supreme Court.

Republicans will be the majority party in the House and Senate after 136 years of being in the minority. Several long time legislators were given their walking papers.

It is incumbent upon the winners to deliver. Infuse the statehouse with integrity. Stop pettiness and special interest control. Bring confidence back. Govern responsibly. Address corruption. Pass ethics reform.

Stop the stalemate that has been in the Senate for years and get meaningful legislation passed that will grow our state into the upper echelon of states in the nation. Priority focus must be on creating and keeping jobs.

Emphasis must remain on meaningful progress on education. That will help with job creation and retention. Voters have given legislators a mandate. They must deliver on it.
