UA women's golf in sixth after 1st round

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The No. 1 University of Alabama women's golf team is in sixth place after the first day of the inaugural SEC/Pac-10 Challenge after shooting a first-round 289 (+5) at the Stanford Golf Course Friday afternoon. The Crimson Tide trails first-place UCLA by just four shots entering the second round.
 
On a day in which no team broke par, sophomore Jennifer Kirby and freshman Stephanie Meadow led the Crimson Tide with a pair of even-par 71s and are currently tied for ninth place.
 
Junior Brooke Pancake shot a 1-over par 72 to come in tied for 22nd place while senior Courtney Harter added a 4-over par 75, to tie for 49th place. Senior Camilla Lennarth, the No. 2 ranked women's collegiate golfer, shot a 5-over par 76.
