MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Exactly two months to the day after Montgomery Police officer Cpl. David Brown survived two accidents within minutes of each other, there's a major milestone.

Cpl. Brown moved out of the intensive care unit at Baptist South Hospital Thursday and into a private room.

Brown was injured in a motorcycle accident on September 11 while escorting a funeral procession. Within minutes of being put into an ambulance, Brown was in a second accident. The ambulance overturned.

Brown will travel to the Shepard Center in Atlanta next week to continue his recovery and start physical therapy.
