A fitting tribute to our nation's heroes in Montgomery Thursday. A large crowd took in the Inaugural River Region Veterans Day Parade.
Fifty bands, veteran's organizations, boy scout troops and many more took part in the event. The parade's them was "A tribute to freedom." Spectators proudly waved the red white and blue. The festivities were a way to say thank you to the men and women who have served our country. Vets in attendance said the event meant a lot.
Judge Charles Price, retired colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves served as the Grand Marshal.
After the parade, the salute to our veterans continued at Montgomery's Riverfront. The Governor, Mayor and military dignitaries all spoke at the event. The festivities wrapped up with a free concert by the 151st Army Band.
