MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department says it has arrested three suspects in connection with the October 13 murder at the Legends apartments. Stephen Williams, 24, of Birmingham was shot and killed around 9:35 that night in an apparent robbery.

Montgomery police say their investigation revealed a group of suspects who appeared to have been targeting Stephen Williams in an effort to rob him.

The suspects were identified as Carkevian Dean, 17, or Briarbrook Drive, Cytrus Rudolph, 19, of Lynnhurst Court and Shakur Young, 16, of Faro Drive.

Officers took each suspect into custody and interviewed them at Police Headquarters.

Investigators say on Wednesday they learned that the suspects actively participated in the planning and execution of the robbery that led to the death of Stephen Williams.

The three suspects are charged with Capital Murder and were placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with no bond.
