MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department responded to a home invasion/subject shot report around 8am Monday on Lawndale Lane.

Officers found the homeowner suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper right leg. The victim said four men burst into his home and demanded cash. When the man refused, the suspects shot him in the leg.

The victim's wife and another person in the home were not injured. The victim was transported to Baptist Medical Center South with non-life threatening injuries.

During the initial investigation Alabama Christian Academy, located nearby on Wares Ferry Road, was briefly placed on lockdown. Officers said the move was done as a precautionary measure due to the close proximity of the school to the scene of the home invasion.  The school went into lockdown status at 8:04 a.m. and was lifted at 8:51 a.m.

The Montgomery Police Department has taken one suspect into custody and is looking for three additional suspects.  One suspect is 5'7-5'9 180 lbs., wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Another suspect is 6'4 250 lbs., wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. The last suspect is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this home invasion is asked to call the Montgomery Police Department at 241-2651 or the secret witness at 215-STOP.
