MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A suspect wanted in connection with a Monday morning attempted murder case is in custody. Police officers responded to St. Jude at 2048 W. Fairview Ave. after receiving calls of a domestic disturbance involving a handgun.

A 31-year-old woman told officers she was confronted by her husband in the parking lot. The victim and her husband are separated. Police say a verbal altercation escalated when the man pulled out a handgun and fired two shots at his wife. Neither the victim, nor any other person was struck by the gunshots.

The suspect left the scene prior to the officer's arrival, but he was located by patrol units a short time later and taken into custody at West Jeff Davis Ave. and South Holt Street without incident.

The suspect, George Parker, Jr., 62, of Greensboro Drive is charged with Attempted Murder and was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility under $300,000 bond.
