MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Right now the site where the new stadium will be built is an open field and a parking lot at the end of North University Drive. It will take about two years to build, completed in time for the Turkey Day Classic in November 2012.

"It will seat 30,000 and it will have sky boxes and state of the art press box," said ASU President William Harris.

Dr. Harris says the school is borrowing the money, $50 million and will have the money in hand by Christmas.

Even in a tight economy Mr. Harris insists ASU will have no problems paying it back. President Harris indicated this was the time to move forward considering construction costs are low now. There are no plans to raise tuition to help pay for the new stadium and no taxpayers money will be used.

President Harris says they've 'identified an income stream to pay for it and to maintain it.'

Athletic Director Stacy Danley says there is no doubt a Hornets stadium will serve as a new recruiting tool for future players and coaches.

"We want to compete at the highest level," said Danley.

Still unclear is what ASU will call its new home field.
