MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A 22-year-old woman will make her first court appearance in Alabama after being charged with abusing her common-law husband's two young children, whose bodies were dumped in wooded areas in Alabama and Mississippi.
Heather Leavell-Keaton is scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday in Mobile, where her husband, 27-year-old John DeBlase, has been charged with murder in the deaths of the children. He's being held under $500,000 bond.
Remains believed to be those of his 3-year-old son Chase and 4-year-old daughter Natalie have been found in Mississippi and Alabama. Authorities say DeBlase directed them to the wooded areas where the bodies were dumped.
