Georgiana lands grant for water tower

A Butler County town is close to a new water tower.  Georgiana's mayor tells WSFA 12 News the city landed a $400,000 grant, but will have to come up with $600,000 to finish paying for the tank.  The grant money came from the state.  The mayor expects to use a bond issue for the rest of the expense.

The mayor says Georgiana has two current water towers, one is 90 years old, the other more than 50.  This new tank would replace both and boost water pressure.
