Conor Kirke back home for Christmas

MONTGOMERY Ala. (WSFA) - A teenager injured in a church van accident last fall is finally back home.

It has been four months since the accident on I-85 when a van transporting the youth group from First Baptist Church in Montgomery crashed because of a tire blow out. Miraculously, no one was killed in the crash.

However, 14-year-old Conor Kirke was seriously injured as the tumbling church van landed on top of him. Conor suffered brain injuries but has recovered and is out of the hospital.

Conor says maybe the thing that hurt him the most was not the injuries he suffered, but rather the "lack of faith" the other patients around him seemed to have. He says the other patients "should just take it easy and know that they are going to get out of it."

Now Conor is united with his family just in time for the Christmas.
