Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - When you stay somewhere for 25 years, it must be a pretty good place.    That's what Cathy Ballant says about her home away from home, Dalraida Elementary School in Montgomery.     This is more than just a place where she goes to work.   "Dalraida is such a wonderful school, my own kids went here and now they are 22 and 26,"  Ballant said.   "If I had to do it all over again I'd send them to Dalraida."

Ms. Ballant has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Dalraida.  She says there's something special about this age group.   "They are so creative and willing to learn, and they really are people pleasers and want to work hard."

So after 25 years is she ready to call it quits?   Not even close.   "People ask me when I'm going to retire, and I always say why would I leave with such a wonderful staff and parents."

It's safe to say the staff, parents, and students all feel the same way about her.  Congratulations Ms. Cathy Ballant, you're this week's Class Act.
