MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Commuters and workers weren't sure what was happening as police and fire, as well as a bomb squad arrived on the scene of Co-Park Auto Parts on Highway 231 South Tuesday afternoon.

The emergency responders were reacting to a 911 call of a suspicious device that was found under the seat of a car.

Deputies and the MPD bomb squad found what looked like dynamite sticks under the seat of a Mitsubishi Eclipse that had been brought onto the lot at Co-Park.

Authorities said the sticks were taped together, but further investigation determined that the sticks were simple road flares that had been bound together.

The bomb squad used a water cannon to destroy the object. No one was injured.
