MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Authorities identified the victim of Tuesday night's fatal car vs. 18-wheeler crash at the intersection of Troy Highway and the Southern Boulevard.

Knox Andrews, 43, of Montgomery, was killed when investigators say he ran a red light on Troy Highway. His Nissan Sentra slammed into the side of an 18-wheeler. Neither person in the 18-wheeler was injured.

Police say the Nissan was traveling north on Troy Highway, failed to heed the red light at the intersection of Troy Highway and the East South Boulevard, and collided with the driver's side of the 18-wheeler which was traveling west on East South Boulevard attempting to make a left turn onto Troy Highway.

This is the first traffic fatality in Montgomery for 2011.
