Montgomery Firefighters Train for Terrorist Attacks

Montgomery firefighters are training just in case a terrorist attack happens in Montgomery. They go through similar training sessions every month and on Thursday they focused their attention on weapons of mass destruction.

Thursday morning, the fire department trained for an attack that could happen anywhere in the city. Firemen conducted a mock terrorist attack using a shopping mall as an example. Crews set up three stations for decontamination each with a different purpose.

Sergeant Larry Coleman said the department's training sessions each month are crucial to staying up to date. Coming up Thursday night on WSFA 12 News at Six, David Hagood will show viewers how the fire department conducts those mock terrorist attack drills and what it takes to get decontaminated.
