ALABAMA NATIONAL GUARD SUPPORT

Alabama National Guard support for the Inauguration of Governor-elect Dr. Bentley 

  • 187th Fighter Wing, Alabama Air National Guard, will conduct a flyover of the Capitol with 4ea. F-16 Jet Fighters. Unit is based out of Dannelly Airfield,  Montgomery, AL. Commander is Colonel Jeff  Smiley
     
  • 151st Army Band, Alabama Army National Guard, Montgomery, AL - The Army band will play the Alabama State song, National Anthem, Ruffles and Flourishes and Stars and Stripes during the ceremony. Band Master - CW3 Mark Mills
     
  • 1-117th Field Artillery Battalion (Salute Battery), Alabama Army National Guard, Greenville, AL - Element will conduct a 19 gun salute at the conclusion of the swearing in of Governor elect Bentley. Non-Commissioned Officer in charge (NCOIC) – SFC Timothy Herring
     
  • Joint Military Honor Guard, Alabama National Guard, Montgomery, AL– Provide ceremonial Honor Guard support to the official reviewing stand. Officer in Charge (OIC) – 1LT Matthew Spivey
     
  • Joint Military Color Guard- Comprised of members from the Alabama Army and Air National Guard.  Element will march in the parade and present the National and State colors at the ceremony. Officer in Charge (OIC) – 1LT Matthew Spivey
     
  • 217th  Military Police Company, Prattville, AL – Will support the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Capitol Police to assist with security at designated locations along the parade route.  Officer in charge (OIC) – CPT James Napier
     
  • 46th Civil Support Team (CST), Montgomery, AL- Will provide monitoring and surveillance support as requested by the Alabama Department of Public Safety (DPS).  Officer in charge – MAJ John Craft
