Help After the Storm

May 24, 2011

Tuesday

Good Morning!

You might be able to help police find a murder suspect. We have his picture to show you during Today in Alabama. Henry County authorities say he killed his own uncle over the weekend at a family gathering. He's considered armed and dangerous and they want him off the streets. Watch this morning. Maybe you can give police the information they need.

We're also on the Road to Recovery. We'll look at what folks are doing after that devastating and deadly tornado in Joplin, Missouri. Find out how Governor Bentley is trying to help. Plus, how the progress is coming right here in Alabama for the victims of last month's storms. Reporter Bethany Wales has a live report.

We have the story of some animals rescued from an unlikely place. Coffee County authorities says the animals were found in deplorable conditions in New Brockton at the city pound! Find out what makes police think they were abused and what's being done to nurse them back to health.

Those stories, plus the Doppler 12 Stormvision forecast for the day and the rest of the week all straight ahead on Today in Alabama, 5-7am on WSFA 12 News!

See you soon,

Tonya Terry

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
