MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Alabama State Troopers arrested a man Friday afternoon whose vehicle crashed on an icy Interstate 65 last December, killing a Montgomery EMT.

State Troopers obtained a vehicular homicide warrant for Robert Allen Cumbie, 42, of Montgomery. Cumbie was arrested Friday at 4:30 pm and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Just before 9am on December 15, 2010, Care Ambulance EMT Laura Elizabeth Pullam, 29, responded to two vehicle crashes on Interstate 65. As she was aiding the victims, Cumbie's Chevrolet pickup truck left the interstate and fatally injured her.

A preliminary investigation showed that Cumbie was speeding and passing traffic that had slowed because of the icy roads and roadside emergency vehicles responding to area crashes.
