Montgomery, AL (WSFA 12 News) - She's spent the last 30 years in the classroom, and that's exactly where she belongs. Jeannie Ephriam teaches first grade at Highland Avenue Elementary School in Montgomery. She knew a long time ago that teaching was her calling. "I had a teacher in the 6th grade who I modeled myself after," Ephriam said. "And I decided when I grow up, I want to be a teacher."
A parent nominated Ms. Ephriam for the Class Act Award. "She's awesome, wonderful, it was my pleasure to nominate her for the Class Act Award," said parent Valerie Harris. "She's been here 29 years and we hope to have her for another 29."
Ms. Ephriam has a simple philosophy, stay positive and keep them motivated. All you have to do is take one look inside her classroom, and you'll see it works like a charm.
