MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) - A vigilant Millbrook resident is being credited with helping capture the suspect in a string of area burglaries.

Daniel Howard Bice, 23, of Millbrook was taken into custody after the resident called authorities Tuesday morning to report a suspicious vehicle.

The caller said they saw the vehicle on Mekeithen Place Road and wrote down the tag number. It was only later that the caller discovered they were actually a victim. Someone had broken into three of the caller's cars. A gun was also missing.

Millbrook Police officers found the suspicious car on Gardenia Road and made a traffic stop. Bice, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested without incident.

Investigators found all of the caller's items, and additional stolen items, in the automobile. Law enforcement agencies surrounding Millbrook are being contacted to see if they can help identify the property.

Bice is facing two counts of 2nd Degree Burglary; five counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle; one count of Theft of Property 2nd Degree; two counts of Theft 3rd Degree and one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Authorities say additional charges are coming.
