DECATUR, AL (WSFA) - Oakland Raiders linebacker and former Crimson Tide player Rolando McClain called Decatur Police Thursday evening to report that he'd been shot at. No one was injured in the incident, however.
McClain met with officers and reported that while he was driving a group of people who were standing on the corner started shooting at his vehicle.
Officers confirmed that at least one round struck the rear hatch of McClain's Chevrolet Tahoe though it "did not penetrate the passenger compartment." The vehicle was processed and a bullet was recovered.
Detectives said they interviewed the passengers in McClain's vehicle at the time of the shooting and continue to follow leads in the case.
McClain left the University of Alabama before his senior year to go professional. He was 8th overall in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
