BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A man charged with capital murder in the drowning of his wife during a honeymoon trip to Australia seven years ago goes back before a Jefferson County judge.
Arraignment for 33-year-old Gabe Watson is at 9 a.m. Monday before Jefferson County Circuit Judge Tommy Nail. Watson is accused of killing his wife of 11 days, Tina Watson, in October, 2003 while they were scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
Watson was convicted of manslaughter and served 18 months in an Australian prison. He was later indicted on the capital murder charge in Alabama and is free on a $100,000 bond.
He will formally enter a plea at Monday's arraignment.
