COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Instead of rendering care to patients, 2 emergency medical technicians are receiving medical care after their ambulance crashed.

It happened on Highway 82, about 7 miles west of Eufaula just after midnight Friday.

Alabama State Troopers said the vehicle hydroplaned, left the road, hit a tree and then flipped before landing on its side.

The driver and passenger -- both workers for a private ambulance company in Tifton, Ga., were en route home from Tuscaloosa after transporting a patient.

Authorities said they suffered minor injuries and are being treated at Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula.

Troopers have not determined the cause of the accident, but said weather conditions may have been a factor.
