WSFA 12 News has learned that the Southern Poverty Law Center received a suspicious letter Wednesday morning. There was a powdery substance inside so Montgomery firefighters put the letter in a bag and took it away from the building.
They also evacuated the offices on the third floor of the SPLC building. Employees went back to work shortly after they were evacuated. The Montgomery County Health Department is testing the substance. They won't know exactly what it is for about ten days.
